About me

Dr. Lardaro’s current EMS responsibilities include serving as Deputy Medical Director for the Indianapolis Fire Department, Deputy Medical Director for Indianapolis EMS, Medical Director for the Paramedic Science Program at Indiana University and Eskenazi Health, Medical Director for Wayne Township Fire Department, Medical Director of the Speedway Fire Department, and the Assistant Medical Director for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department SWAT team.

Dr. Lardaro grew up in Rhode Island and studied Biological Sciences at the University of Connecticut where he graduated summa cum laude. He worked two years as a researcher in molecular and cell biology at Harvard Medical School prior to attending medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to graduation from medical school, he was selected for the Pre-doctoral Clinical Research Training Program where he gained further research training and his MPH in Epidemiologic and Biostatistical Methods for Public Health and Clinical Research at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. While pursuing his emergency medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, he worked as a full crewmember for Vanderbilt LifeFlight and took a keen interest in pre-hospital medicine. During EMS fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Lardaro worked with the Cincinnati Fire Department, Cincinnati Police Department SWAT, and UC Air Care in addition to his duties as an attending physician.
