About me

Kevin arrived at Indiana University in 1998 from Brooke Army Medical Center taking over as the Associate Program Director. At Brooke he served form 1990-1998 as the Pre-Hospital Care Director, the Assistant Program and Research Director, the Associate Program Director and Program Director. In 2002, Kevin and Carey Chisholm became the Co-Program Directors for the IU EM Residency and in 2013 he became the sole Program Director with Carey’s move to a Senior Educator slot.

Dr. Rodgers is very active with the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, currently serving as its Treasurer. He has served 8 years on the Board of Directors and was the Chair of the Education Committee from 2006-2011. He participates as a site director for the Oral Board Review Course, as faculty for the Written Board Review Course and as the BOD Liaison to the AAEM Resident-Student Association. Kevin has been honored to receive both the AAEM Program Director of the Year Award and the Joe Lex Educator of the Year Award.

Kevin is currently on the SAEM Program Committee and serves as the Chair of the Resident Leadership /Chief Resident Forum. He is a reviewer for Academic Emergency Medicine and Journal of Emergency Medicine. Recently he was afforded the opportunity to serve with a group of Emergency Medicine educators who drafted the new ACGME Emergency Medicine Milestones.

His interests include cooking, wine tasting, and coaching lacrosse. He has helped maintain and staff a clinic in Haiti since 2000.  His wife Ruth serves as a Vice-President for Student Development and Dean of Students at Marian University. They have 4 sons: Pat (25), Sean (22), Ryan (19) and Dan (14).
