Everything! Great faculty and residents, great city, incredible training.
Random fact:
I'm fluent in Russian (Not too useful in Indiana :))

Enjoyable/fun work environment - great residents and faculty. You can't beat the variety of learning and experience between both Wishard and Methodist
Random fact:
Voted "most likely to have her own talk show" in college. I also used to be a swimmer, singer, and waitress before my time in medicine.

The staff are passionate about taking exceptional care of patients and teaching residents to do the same. In addition, they serve as outstanding personal and professional mentors.
Random fact:
Prior to moving to Indiana for residency, I had lived my entire life in Iowa, but was born in Minnesota and conceived in Nebraska.

Favorite thing about practicing Emergency Medicine at Indiana:
Everything! Diverse patient population; supportive, enthusiastic faculty; great learning atmosphere; opportunities to pursue multiple sub-interests within emergency medicine and pediatrics; and fantastic co-residents.
Random fact:
I majored in musical theater in college and was once a nationally ranked whitewater kayaker. Within the past five years, I've spent time in over 15 countries on five different continents.

an opportunity to learn from the outstanding staff and residents who fearlessly care for 200,000 patients a year in both academic emergency departments.
Random fact:
I sold sweet corn with my family in our front yard every summer between the ages of five and twenty five.

Awesome training in both the Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics programs and the opportunity to practice in three high volume Emergency Departments with staff that love to teach. Indianapolis is also a much cooler city than I would have ever thought!

I'm an aspiring Mariachi guitarist.

The EM program at Indiana is a true family. Each member of the IU family is wholeheartedly invested in your education and professional growth. Also, the opportunity to train as both an EM physician and pediatrician under the guidance of two very well respected programs is unique and challenging.

I plan on opening a Tiki Bar in the Caribbean once I become financially stable.
